Move over, Kate Middleton: another duchess is hot on your Gianvito Rossi heels. Yep, there’s someone else who just could take the crown when it comes to young, stylish royals. And it’s no surprise the two are being compared to each other. Not only do they belong to European monarchies, but they’ve both earned their fair share of fans, too.

In winning the heart of Prince William, Kate managed to steal the affections of an entire nation – if not the world. Over the years, though, the Duchess of Cambridge has been able to step out of her husband’s shadow with her enviable sense of style and charitable nature. Maybe she could even give the new royal generation a few tips...

You heard right: there’s a new royal on the block who may have the style and grace to rival even Kate: the Duchess of Brabant. While she may not yet be as well-known as her British counterpart, the future looks bright for this young monarch-to-be.

Outside the U.K.

But the duchess isn’t a Brit herself. She belongs to another royal family entirely. Yes, there are plenty more out there! Currently, there are 26 separate monarchies ruling in 43 countries. They include a network of queens, kings, emperors and sultans in nations such as Saudi Arabia, Swaziland and Thailand.

And of all the monarchies in the world, 12 of them are located in Europe. There’s the British royal family, of course, but also ones in Denmark, the Netherlands, Spain and Sweden, to name but a few. Then there’s the dynasty that rules over Belgium and is headed by Elisabeth, the Duchess of Brabant’s father King Philippe.
